About me
Hello! I am a wife, mom and registered dietitian.
I obtained an undergraduate degree from the University of Guelph (2003), and a master’s degree from Mount Saint Vincent University (2008). During my years at the Mount as both a graduate student and faculty member I had the privilege of working on many participatory action research projects focused on individual and community food security under the leadership of Dr. Patty Williams. Much of this research exposed the need for effective income based policies to address food insecurity.
I now work as a Public Health Nutritionist and am a founding member of the Annapolis Valley Community Food Council. Through both these organizations, I am so grateful to partner with many amazing individuals and organizations as we work to improve food security in both our local communities and at the provincial level.
I live on a small, urban farm where my family and I are learning to grow vegetables and flax and raise pigs, goats, and chickens. My dogs keep me busy too.
